So the final debate between Governor Romney and President Obama has come and gone. All three of the debates were excellent ways for the public to see both candidates face each other, and we were able to learn a great deal about the candidates this way. We also laughed a lot because of the various tweets and memes that have come out of the debates.
Here at NaQ, we thought we’d gather some of the candidate’s best quotes from the evening. It’s going to be another four years before we have this chance again, but only people who love politics will be looking forward to that!
So here are some of the greatest quotes from the evening of the debates:
“We can’t kill our way out of this mess.” Romney said this in hopes of diffusing the importance of the current administration’s killing of Osama bin Laden. Concise and to the point!
“And the 1980s are now calling to ask for their foreign policy back because, you know, the Cold War’s been over for 20 years.” Obama hit Romney hard with this quote because of Romney’s previous statement that Russia was our number one geopolitical enemy.
“Mr. President, America has not dictated to other nations. We have freed other nations from dictators.” This was a quick attack by Romney on Obama’s foreign policy.
“Governor, we also have fewer horses and bayonets because the nature of our military’s changed. We have these things called aircraft carriers where planes land on them. We have these ships that go underwater, nuclear submarines. And so the question is not a game of Battleship where we’re counting ships.” This was one of the best zingers of the evening. Obama said this in response to Romney’s insistence on having a large navy.
There are many more quotes from the debate out there on the web. Be sure to find them. As always, checking out the Twitter quotes and comments about the debate can make for a great laugh as well. We hope you enjoyed these!
