Looking Towards an Environmentally-Friendly Future

Despite the fact that there is quite a bit of controversy surrounding global warming, there is indisputable evidence that our environment is changing. Every year brings more severe weather and dangerous storms. The glaciers are melting at an alarming pace, disrupting the habitat of hundreds of species and raising the level of our oceans. The human race has just begun to enact changes in order to protect our earth.

Thankfully, people have started to live in a more environmentally friendly manner. We compost our leftovers, use solar-powered devices, and buy energy efficient appliances in an effort to reduce our impact on the planet. Some people even go so far as to live off the grid or build completely sustainable houses. At the end of the day, all efforts help, whether big or small. Over the years, many people have commented on the state of our planet and our efforts to make the earth a better place for all.

“The clear and present danger of climate change means we cannot burn our way to prosperity. We already rely too heavily on fossil fuels. We need to find a new, sustainable path to the future we want. We need a clean industrial revolution.”
-Ban Ki-moon

“New Age values are conscious evolution, a non-sectarian society, a non-military culture, global sharing, healing the environment, sustainable economies, self-determination, social justice, economic empowerment of the poor, love, compassion in action, going beyond religious fundamentalism, going beyond nationalism-extreme nationalism, culture.”
-Deepak Chopra

If we’re destroying our trees and destroying our environment and hurting animals and hurting one another and all that stuff, there’s got to be a very powerful energy to fight that. I think we need more love in the world. We need more kindness, more compassion, more joy, more laughter. I definitely want to contribute to that.
-Ellen DeGeneres

“The only way forward, if we are going to improve the quality of the environment, is to get everybody involved.”
-Richard Rogers
