If you follow politics at all, you know that the Republican National Convention is set to begin this week in Florida. It will last a few days and lots of people are curious to see how it unfolds. The message the Republicans give at this convention needs to be well-prepared and well-thought out.
There is another person with a final message to give though. Using the popularity and hype of the convention as a backdrop, Presidential candidate Ron Paul has given the last speech of his political career. He has had a very interesting career and has been very influential in educating and influencing people about the libertarian perspective that often gets drowned out in our two-party system.
He has had a consistent and steady message since he took office decades ago. Not many politicians can say that honestly. His voting record backs him up too.
So in honor of Dr. Paul, we’ll give you some famous quotes of his from over the years.
From Brainy Quote:
“I am just absolutely convinced that the best formula for giving us peace and preserving the American way of life is freedom, limited government, and minding our own business overseas.”
“1913 wasn’t a very good year. 1913 gave us the income tax, the 16th amendment and the IRS.”
“Setting a good example is a far better way to spread ideals than through the force of arms.”
“Legitimate use of violence can only be that which is required in self-defense.”
“Well I don’t think we should go to the moon. I think we maybe should send some politicians up there.”
“Our country’s founders cherished liberty, not democracy.”
So no matter where Ron Paul heads next, he has certainly made an impact in the political culture of the country, especially during this election cycle!
