The entire east coast of the US is bracing for a large and powerful hurricane to hit this week. Her name is Sandy. The hurricane covers over 800 miles with its winds and rains. Currently it’s sitting a very low pressure as well. It could be a storm that is remembered for quite some time. Entire cities have shutdown in preparation and millions are preparing to be without power for quite some time. With all of the talk of hurricanes, emergencies, and preparation, here at NaQ we thought we’d look up some quotes related to hurricanes. There are some pretty funny and interesting ones out there. Hopefully you’ve taken the appropriate steps to get ready for Hurricane Sandy this week. If you don’t live on the east coast, Sandy isn’t much of a problem for you.
Anyway, time for some quotes!
“To describe my mother would be to write about a hurricane in its perfect power.” – Maya Angelou
“You do not have to be a hurricane, to turn things around.” – Loesje
“It is better to meet danger than to wait for it. He that is on a lee shore, and foresees a hurricane, stands out to sea and encounters a storm to avoid a shipwreck.” – Charles Caleb Colton
“Anyone who says they’re not afraid at the time of a hurricane is either a fool or a liar, or a little bit of both.” – Anderson Cooper
“Hurricane Irene…the storm was huge news. In fact, the Weather Channel reported something they haven’t seen in years. Viewers.” – Jimmy Fallon
“It was like being in the eye of a hurricane. You’d wake up in a concert and think, wow, how did I get here?” – John Lennon
Hopefully you found those entertaining. We’re also very hopeful that the damage from Sandy isn’t too terrible and that things go well for everyone affected. At best, this week might be the time for a lot of people on the east coast to catch up on their reading once the power goes out!
