The Restorative Qualities of a Good Hike

Many people love to get out in the fresh open air and for a hike. Hiking allows us to unwind while working through our thoughts and observing nature. The very act of hiking is cathartic to many people. Some of the most famous writers in the world have written extensively on the beauty of hiking and spending time in nature. In fact, the great transcendentalists of the romantic era believed that nature and the human soil were closely linked. While this thought may seem antiquated to some, it cannot be argued that nature plays an important role in all of our lives.
Nature is inspirational and life giving, and a hike through the woods is one of the best ways to open your mind and relax. Next time you go on a hike, bring a journal along with you. Many great thoughts came to people while walking through the woods.
