Fans of the NFL are probably a little sad this week. The Super Bowl was Sunday, February 3rd this year. That means no more NFL for a while. The NFL season was a good one this year, and the Super Bowl proved to be a great game, in spite of the technical problems. The stadium losing power was certainly unexpected!
The Halftime show was entertaining as well. There were also plenty of entertaining commercials for those people who like commercials better than the football! All-in-all, the Super Bowl was a success – unless of course you were a San Francisco fan. Maybe next year?
Here are some of the best quotes from those in the Super Bowl.
This year like always we saw two head coaches compete against each other, except this time they were brothers. Ravens coach John Harbaugh stated, ” just knew with Jim Harbaugh being on the other sideline and all of those years we have been together that game was going to be a dog fight right to the end. Those guys were coming back.”
The Ray Lewis story was a big story this year. Ray said this after winning the game: “I was tested through this journey, it was an up-and-down rollercoaster, the injuries, the people, and we stayed together. And now, I get to ride off into the sunset with my second ring.”
On the side of the 49ers, there weren’t too many happy feelings like Ray had. Offensive tackle Joe Staley said, “Five yards short, all the work we did in the offseason, the whole entire season, everything came down to five yards and we weren’t able to get it done.”
Lastly, to show how committed these players are, here’s a quote from Ravens player Vonta Leach. He said, “You talk about a guy Ed Reed, Anquan Boldin, Matt Birk, Bryant McKinnie. These guys have been in the league a long time and never won. We wanted to win it for Ray and we wanted to win it for those guys.”
We won’t have any quotes about the NFL until next year! Hopefully next season is the best one yet!
