Top Quotes from the Stars at the Golden Globes

Earlier this week we all got to see our favorite stars attend the 2013 Golden Globes. This is one of the top award shows of the year and next month we have the Oscars to look forward to. But before we even start thinking about the Oscars, let’s take a look at what some of the stars of the Golden Globes had to say about the evening. We’ve also collected some hilarious quotes from the two entertaining hosts of the show, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

Hugh Jackman on the idea that dancing and singing isn’t masculine. “I don’t know how in history we got off track. Fifty years ago, you were never going to get a girl if you didn’t know how to sing and dance!”

Director Quentin Tarantino on his excitement and attraction to spaghetti westerns, “I like how they tell their stories, how violent, how nihilist, and the operatic stage that they play their stories out on.”

Christopher Waltz who won for supporting actor for his role in Django Unchained remarked on the kinds of movies he wants to see, stating, “I wish more movies gave us an opportunity to discuss controversial [subjects].”

Daniel Day-Lewis being rather candid and open about his role in Lincoln when he remarked backstage, “The last thing I wanted to do was go down in flames having desecrated the memory of the greatest president in the history of this country.”

Now to some of the funny quotes from the Golden Globes’ two comedian hosts:

“The Hunger Games was one of the biggest films of the year, and also what I call the six weeks it took me to get into this dress.”

In a show of brilliance the above quote and joke wasn’t over yet when the hosts announced, “Ang Lee has been nominated for the Life of Pi, which is what I’m gonna call the six weeks after I take this dress off!”

Lastly, “Only at the Golden Globes do the beautiful people of film rub shoulders with the rat-faced people of television.”
